Transitioning into a new role came with its challenges, including learning new systems such as SAS, PowerBI and handling multiple projects at once. To address these, I spoke to my mentor to prioritise my learning and guide me to the best courses to help me learn, which have been a great way to keep track of my progress. I have been able to apply the skills I've learnt almost immediately on my projects.

As a graduate, rotating through the responsibility framework has been a key part of my development. This continues to give me valuable insights into the key business processes of a data consultancy and helps shape my understanding of the end-to-end project lifecycle.From day one, I focused on building my technical capability and expanding my professional knowledge. It was really easy to integrate into the company culture - everyone at Butterfly Data is approachable and relatable. I felt at ease in the office from the beginning and quickly discovered shared interests through our many informal channels from pet photos to running.

I’ve significantly developed my technical skills, including SAS programming and data visualisation in Power BI, as well as developing skills in networking and stakeholder engagement. Key lessons learnt include the importance of effective collaboration and asking for help from your team when needed as although independent problem solving is important, it is also important to fully understand what you are doing and people are more than happy to help!
